After losing their beloved Senior Airedale Rufus & Senior Labradoodle Molly two years ago, in May 2006 our friends Alex & Jacqui adopted Harriet, a little waif needing lots of love & security & reassurance.

Once she became settled, they requested a Rescueboy; in February 2007, along came Webster.

He is the perfect companion for Harriet and with every day, their understanding of each other grows stronger & stronger.

Webster the Rescuedale is now happily settling in with his own family in Mallacoota. He arrived there in February with a woolly mammoth hairdo. Now trim & neat, we can see the real Webster, who is a gentle, laid-back kind of fellow, just right for his more feisty little sister, Harriet.

He's been a bit difficult to train but they are working on it.

We visited them at Mallacoota on our way home to Wombat Bend and it was a joy to see such happy faces. Not only do they have a fulltime Mum & Dad, they have free run of the best beaches in Australia!

The mountain range on the horizon is known as the Howe Range, and it actually marks the border between Victoria (this side) & New South Wales (over the range - to the north). The little island out to the right (east) is Gabo Island, which effectively marks the starting edge of Bass Strait.

Go south from there and you hit Tasmania; go even farther south through the Roaring Forties and you hit Antarctica.

The beaches run for hundreds of miles to both north and (behind us) to the south. Not too many people, as you can(not) see . . .

. . . and Heaven for Airedales.
