With Chester supervising, the first wall is almost complete.
We are using the weathered silver palings that we rescued,
with Enzo's help, from a 'senior' fence in nearby Healesville,
and they are perfect for the job.

You can see Enzo unloading the trailer back on Page 34.

You can see how addicted I am to rescuing Senior treasures!

Not content with merely rescuing Senior palings, I also rescued a small piece of glass for a tiny window - more for fun, but it does allow some extra light into the end wall. Bill even made a little window sill for it.

The poles for the veranda came from a Red Box gumtree we had to (sadly) fell because some borer got into it, but it will live on as part of Enzo's (and Sue's) Potting Shed.

I tell you, Bill is ADDICTED to building. A whole new career path is opening up. He built our office into the house in 2004 (so we could open up The Burrow B&B), and now he informs me he has designed a second office space (which we definitely do need) for construction next year!

There are four recycled windows to go on this wall. One pair of dear little four-paned windows to open in the centre, and on either side of these will be two gorgeous leadlight pieces donated by guests who stayed in The Burrow at Christmas time, and were excited by our plans for the Potting Shed.

The windows will be installed last of all . . . not hard to guess why.

Bill needed a nail pouch so now he has one.

The roof she goes on!

And here we all are this morning
(Enzo's birthday, Sunday 29 April, 2007),
making sure that Dad is doing it right.

Note from Ascha, Aerem & Chester:
You have to watch him, but on the whole he has been easy to train.

This little 'end' of the Potting Shed will contain stacked firewood for the house.
