ENZO'S DATE
WITH DR. FOUGERE

On 23 August (in OZ), Sue writes:

For all and any who are up & awake at this very moment, please send every atom of AireZen you can for Enzo right now.

He is walking into the office of Dr. Fougere, Natural Therapies Vet Specialist, in Sydney, Oz. Atia is with him.

If the AireWorld can bring off any kind of miracle for our beloved Enzo, this next hour is one of those moments when concentration on him will be the best we can do right now.

For Enzo & Atia - AireZennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Sue - wondering & worrying in Wombat Bend, and wishing I could be in Sydney

JACKIE McGUINNESS & ANNIE, MR. MAC, MAHRI & ELLIE:

AireZen whooshing its way through the stratosphere to be at Enzo's side.

Anim

CINDY & TALLULAH:

I think of Enzo every day and hope that somehow he can come through this. I am hoping for a miracle.

Anim

BOBBI PROCYK:

Enzo has not left my thoughts & prayers for days. Miracles do happen.

MARIE KORTA:

Our family has followed the story of Enzo from the beginning. Our joy has turned to such sadness hearing of his current condition. How horribly unfair. Happily, Enzo is now with his family and in the arms of those he trusts & loves the most. Thankfully, YOU & the worldwide AireZen community made it happen. Our Reilly & Rose send Enzo, his family & you their best 'dale smiles', 'body wiggles' & 'tail wags'.

MARY LaPOINTE:

My thoughts & prayers are with Enzo.

Later that day, Sue writes . . .

Atia called me late Thursday evening to share the experience of visiting Dr. Fougere, and to give me Dr. Fougerešs assessment of Enzo.

In short, as we well know and as Dr. Fougere clearly expressed, each & every dog is different. Different in the way they respond to stress, different in their emotional & physical make-up, different in the ways they may heal.

She was not there to offer unrealistic hope, but she was also firm in the knowledge that for some individuals, it is possible to 'live with cancer', even if it does not 'go away'. (We, I should add, had this exact experience with Aemon, our own Miracle Boy, whose story was one of brain tumour (assessed as fatal) at the age of 20 months, followed by Haemolytic Anaemia at the age of almost four, yet he lived to a fraction before his seventh birthday. Sustaining life was a constant battle, but worth every nanosecond of it).

Dr. Fougere spent well over an hour with Enzo & Atia, and included a session of laser acupuncture in that time. She listened carefully, asked questions, concentrated on the information which Atia provided, and at the conclusion of the period, gathered together a number of herbal-based items which Enzo is to take on a daily basis. Pain medication is also supplied, to be used if necessary. A follow-up appointment has been set for Thursday of next week.

Naturally, Atia is struggling with the enormous blow that Enzo's illness represents. Emotionally, things could not be tougher in every single layer of her life right now, yet she refuses to let herself be overwhelmed with self pity. Life is horrendously difficult for vast numbers of people, but I have to say that I don't know any who would step in and swap with Atia. I have deep admiration & concern for her, and will support her in any way I can.

Dr. Fougere expressed a wish to read Enzo's Story on Andrea's web pages, so last night I wrote to her and sent the details. I hope she may have time to respond to me later.

So, as always, please accept our gratitude for all the powerful AireZen that is flooding into Enzo & Atia. Many of you have written privately to me, or to the lists, and I am keeping Atia well supplied with your wonderful & caring notes.

Patty Eisenbraun once described me as 'stubborn' (with a twinkle in her eye). Well, yes . . . perhaps I am. And if stubborn also means determined - coupled with optimistic - does that not also describe an Airedale?

Stubborn & optimistic & determined to smooth Enzo's path ----

PATTI WEBSTER & BISCUIT:

Every day I am praying and sending Zen & love to Enzo and to his family (and extended family).

Anim

MARY LaPOINTE:

Thank you very much for the update on Enzo's condition. I concur with your definition of "stubborn". And it most certainly describes one of the attributes of the noble Airedale breed. I'm so happy that Enzo is blessed with such a great support system, and miracles DO happen.
