NOW PLAYING: WALTZING MATILDA ENZO OF CZECH REPUBLIC & AUSTRALIA FUNDRAISER RAFFLE & DONOR INCENTIVES This raffle was to pay for Enzo's airefaire & quarantine expenses, which are in the order of 3,500 AUD. That translates approximately to 2,660 USD, 2,936 CAD, or 2,075 EUR. FIRST PRIZE Illustration taken from Emma's Journey, with permission A gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, amazing Wall Hanging. Not a quilt, but a wall hanging, and just as precious. The picture is straight from Emma's Journey, and those of you who have the book must turn to page 12 & 13 to see it. It is the moment when Emma arrives in the High Wild Country, having been guided there by the White Swallow. It's an image which always tugs at our hearts, because it is Emma exactly as she always was, and the White Swallow was real. She truly was here at the moment when Emma left our side, and she knew exactly where Emma wanted to go. The wall hanging is being crafted by a wonderfully talented longtime friend, Jeannie, who is so excited about it that she couldn't wait to begin work. It will be a while before we have an image to display, but I get to be lucky - I shall be watching it develop week by week, and I can already 'see' the finished work so clearly. I guess I won't be allowed to win it though, huh? WON BY: MAUREEN SCOTT SECOND PRIZE The same picture, this time a limited edition print beautifully matted & ready to frame. Jane Dingwall (whose lovely artwork is available HERE) created all the illustrations for Emma's Journey, and when I called her for 'artist's permission' to make the wall hanging, she instantly offered the print as another prize. Jane also wanted to frame it, but I declined only because sending it overseas to the lucky winner could be risky, given that glass & timber would be involved. So, whoever wins the picture, I hope they (you) will forgive this & be happy to frame it afterwards. WON BY: PETER MORTENSEN THIRD & FOURTH PRIZES A custom-made Hippy Dippy Doggie Coat - double fleece, reversible, Velcro closures, completely washable. Winner gets to pick colors (subject to availability). Plains, prints or plaids are possible. See photos of Littlest Lunatic (red) & Angie (green) FOR EXAMPLES AND FIT. Coat fits most Airedales and Airedale-sized dogs (e.g. Boxers, Labs, etc.). Custom-made & donated by Maureen Scott. WON BY . . . JUDY DWIGGINS Annabella models her Hippy Dippy Doggie Coat . . . AND . . . ROS & ALLAN PADFIELD Storm (aka Princess) models her flower-spangled Hippy Dippy Doggie Coat, hand-created by Maureen Scott. Chester (aka King) received a scarlet jacket so he would not feel left out. Thank you, Maureen! Your generosity is legendary. FIFTH, SIXTH & SEVENTH PRIZES Signed copies of the book, Emma's Journey, donated by Sue Forrester. WON BY: JENNIFER DOUGLASS BOBBI PROCYK I am delighted to be receiving Emma's Journey and was so pleased to be able to help Enzo in a small way. It just seemed right that another senior dog should receive a donation from our own senior. Much to my surprise, being as how I'm the person who rarely wins anything, Sue wrote to say I'd been the $3000 AUD plateau winner and the prize was a recycled 'Dale from Jan Williams. Talk about happy dancing! Today, the Arctic Queen (thanks to Jackie McGuinness for the name) flew into the Circus ring and she's utterly wonderful, right from her turned-up black nose to her fat little toes! Her red & green plaid bandana is terrific. The Scott family tartans, with a single exception, are essentially red & green so even her scarf is perfect! She was accompanied by one of Jan's delightful Christmas ornaments which the Alpha Male immediately claimed. (I have it back after some persistence.) Arctic Queen and friends - Kipper, SAR dog & Scout The Queen is enthroned on top of the china cabinet in the dining room where she can rule her kingdom safe from the inquiring nosepokes of the Circus girls.
