Paul replies:
Glad to hear that the kids arrived safe & sound - the reason for the delay in shipment was my plan to include a brass lamp (of which I have recently seen a hundred in the Dubai Duty Free) that I just couldn't seem to find in Kuwait City and I did do a lot of driving around to locate one. I know I shall soon stumble over a store that sells only brass lamps but I haven't yet found it. When I do find that silly store I shall send a brass lamp for young Maia and for you too - I shall be so delirious when I find the bl**dy lamp store I am sure I will not be able to buy only one.
In the interim the cheerful colored lamps murals in the AireTainer were my somewhat Egyptian solution for lighting the doggie's gypsy trailer on their way to the land of Oz. Mister McGuire insisted on going along to see that the three children were OK. I too noticed that wonderful smell of those Mini-dales - that is the smell of home - that is the smell of the Jupiter Airedales (and of my Mary).
It is OK that I shipped the three rascals to you for Maia - you see, it is easy for me to share because my heart is filled with Airedales and it is good to share your heart with others. I shall miss them but I have comfort in the knowledge, just like every big rescue Airedale that comes through my hands, that they are going to a wonderful, loving home and they will loved forever by Maia.
You live in a magical place . . . such glorious Airedales, such beautiful cloud-filled skies & billabong custom-made to reflect their beauty - I could just about smell the eucalyptus as I gazed at the photos . . .

These small, fuzzy Airedale-ettes represent a community of caring people connected through a worldwide network fueled by a rare element called AireZen. Wherever those little guys go they fill the air with a profusion of Aire-lectrons. Looking at them will make you smile. Touching them will connect the holder to continents of like-minded folks and thousands & thousands of fellow ADTs. Enzo Mini-Me, Mister McGuire & Belle made a grand journey from the mountains of Colorado to the sands of Kuwait onward to the lush green lands of southern Australia. They are joined by two more Airedale cuties, Andréa & Kipper. This intrepid group of world-traveling Airedale rapscallions is well-equipped to keep Maia safe until her own beautiful Enzo arrives in December. | |
Thank you for connecting all of the dots to make this happen.
On 18 October (in OZ), Sue writes:
Another box arrived today, containing a darling little fellow named Barkley, together with a wee hedgehog purse, a very minimee Enzo, and some tiny Stone Airedale pendants . . . all the way from Julie McLemore & her son Russell, and Airedales Blue & Phoebe, in Houston, Texas. There is also a card of Aaron the Puppy (from Emma's Journey), with a loving message from all of them.
Thank you so much, Julie & Russell, and Blue & Phoebe - I know Maia will adore Barkley. He is incredibly soft & cuddly, and looks very smart with his scarlet bandana & the blue ribbon with his name on.
What amazing fun Maia is going to have with her family of Enzostuffies! Each of them is so special and filled with so much love.
