We really didn't want to ask her to perform for us, so we were happy to take photos of her reclining in the house and then a few shots out in the yard. No, she wasn't going to jump off that ledge out in the yard, but it does look like it in the photo, doesn't it!

It was wonderful to see that Goldie could stand, balancing weight on her back legs for even a short time . . . with Lisa ever ready to steady her if needed.
You can look at this two ways: one naturally sad that she can't walk by herself at all, or the other option to be really happy because there was no way she could have stood by herself for even a short time a few weeks ago, and now standing there for a minute or so is wonderful!
No two ways about it, she is in for a long haul of rehab, but improvements are happening - slowly, yes - but they are happening. I feel so strongly that she has endured and survived so much that she deserves every single effort we can do to help her regain as much use of her body as possible.
Goldie is just as sweet as Lisa has described her, cuddling up to you for petting. Just look into those still-trusting eyes! Heavens yes, Goldie is definitely bonded to Lisa - after all, Lisa is her savior. However, Goldie is so sweet and I know she will bond to her new owner when that time comes.
