This morning we had an acupuncture session, a blood draw, and one of Goldie's lumps was aspirated. Let's keep our fingers crossed for good results next week.
Now, read this for the HUGE news. When we got home from our appointment, Goldie had not yet been fed. When I brought Goldie's food to her she STOOD UP!!! Yes! She stood up. Not a crouch, not on her knees. Goldie stood up. She was only using her back right leg, but she had her foot planted on the ground and she lifted her body all the way up. She only held it for a couple of seconds, but this miracle girl stood up! It was great and amazing and wonderful! She did this completely on her own; I was not touching her at all.
Then when she did eat, I only gave her horizontal balance while she stood and ate her food. She stood for about 90 seconds before her legs tired and she buckled to eat the rest of her breakfast. Her legs are getting so much stronger and she's so much stronger. This was so cool. I didn't expect it, so there's no picture, but believe me, little Goldie lifted herself up into a standing position.
ELLEN McGEAGH:
Why didn't I send her a MICHIGAN sweater? Oh well, you go, Goldie!
SHARON:
I am so thrilled by this . . . and wish to tell Lisa just what a great Airedale mom she is being . . . I look forward to her updates, and can really see all the care & fun & joy they all are having together. Lisa really goes the extra mile. And we have her to thank for Goldie's blossoming. I pray for them off and on, all the time. I even get Miss Dolly involved in this. We are rooting for them!
