OK, I thought . . . here we go . . . pick up dogs, pay the bills, and on the road . . . we'll be, meeting Barth & Penny Leatherman in Fond du Lac at 10:30 a.m.
Oh no, we can't leave yet, AireDaddy tells me. I have to drop the Vette off at Sears . . . no one is there to take the keys 'til 8 a.m.
Um . . . didn't you do this yesterday?
Yeah, but they didn't have the part, so I brought it home and now have to bring it back. And then I have to get my prescription at Walgreens.
Prescription!? What prescription?!
The one the doctor called in yesterday but I haven't picked up yet.
And wouldn't you know it?! Another Vette pulls up and, well, VetteFans talk about their cars the way DaleFans talk about their dogs.
Finally, at the vet clinic . . .
So, what're the damages?

Through Door #1 . . .

. . . comes Lucy . . .
|
. . . then Cheyenne . . .

They smelled so much better; some of the dreadlocks had been cut off; even their collars & leashes smelled clean.
I was told they had a GREAT TIME running around out in the dog run; one was difficult to catch to bring back in. And they hadn't p**ped at all, so we had THAT to look forward to!
[As a side note, let me just thank the entire staff of Kenosha Animal Hospital - the doctors, the vet techs, the receptionists, the dog washers, the kennel persons - for their assistance in the rehabilitation of all of Farmer Mike's castoffs I've brought in. I've had to make last-minute appointments, change the appointment time and/or number of dogs, and all have been most cooperative and shown their love for animals by the way they have treated these Airedales.] |
. . . and Dolly.
