THE HUMMER & THE SMART CAR
28 MARCH 2008 | |
Ms Pix is presently entertaining her half-sister, Miss Judy, who is fostering with us. Miss Judy is three years older than Pixie and about half as large. Ms Pix is phlegmatic about her sister. She looms over her menacingly, but then, Pix looms over most other dogs in this fashion. Tiny Miss Judy zips around Ms Pix like a bee scenting a particularly fine flower.
So, tonight, Miss Judy thought she would like to take a wee nap in the crate that lives in the corner of my office. Miss Judy has a minor eyesight problem. To put it baldly, she is blind as a bat. She charged into the crate only to come smack up against something very large & very furry that grunted at her.
Well, this was curious. There hadn't been anything large & furry there last time she looked. She backed up and nosepoked curiously at the large, furry object which objected crossly, rose to its full height, shook vigorously and stalked out of the crate. Miss Judy is very quick, even on those crippled hind legs. She darted after the large furry object, caught up to it, gave it a body slam which I daresay the object never felt and then, just to prove a point, whacked the object's nose with her own head as hard as she could while trotting by. Naturally, she made this look like an accident. Of course, the large furry object was her sister, Ms Pix.
The sisters remind me of a Hummer & a Smart Car. I'll leave you to guess which is which . . . .
