KELLIE'S SURGERY . . .

9 DECEMBER 2010

At 1:24 p.m., Debbie writes:

I received my first call from the hospital this morning around 8:30. They reported that Kellie had rested well last night and that she was very happy to see Ashley this morning. Ashley took her out for a nice walk and they had already administered the pre-anesthesia meds. They expected the anesthesiologist at any time and as soon as everyone was in place, they would be getting started.

My second call came from Ashley around noon today. The surgery was over. It had taken nearly three hours. Kellie was still under anesthesia at that point, but they were getting ready to start waking her up.

Early reports were that the surgery was a complete success and that she hadn't had any problems. They expected to be able to wake her with no issues and they promised to call me later in the afternoon.

THANK goodness it's over with. I have been watching the computer about every half hour or so for an update. I am so glad they were able to do it today and that she is fine.

Thank you both so much. Now waiting to hear that she is awake and good to go!

This is such wonderful news. I am thrilled that this beautiful girl is going to have a good chance for a happy & long life. God Bless Kellie

And later that evening:

Kellie is doing well this evening. She was sitting up in her kennel tonight. She had been outside for a short walk and had a bite to eat. She was being very cooperative with the staff. She was still a bit groggy and on some pain meds so not completely "with it." We are hopeful and there is a very good chance that she will be able to come home tomorrow afternoon.
