KELLIE & SANTA

28 DECEMBER 2010

Kellie is such a love. I just can't believe how well she is doing.

I arrived home last night and got Kellie picked up from her substitute foster home today. I can't believe the changes in her in just less than two weeks. I thought it was miraculous before I left, but now I can assure you that I've never seen a transformation like this.

Every aspect of Kellie is different, from her activity level to her appetite. I took her in to see the vet today just for my own reassurances. She had a visit while I was gone and had her stitches removed at that time.

Today the vet tells us that she heard no murmur at all. Kellie's heart is beating strong & solid and in a regular pattern. I thought they were going to have to muzzle Kellie just to keep her from chewing on the vet's hair. What is it with puppies & hair? So sweet. She is doing very very well and doesn't need to be rechecked for three months when we will have the echo repeated to look for any blood flow from the heart.

Kellie was resting comfortably on Christmas Eve when she was awakened by noises on the roof. Hoping for a tasty treat, she ran to where she heard the commotion. There he was in all of his glory. The Big Man in Red. When Santa asked what she wanted for Christmas, Kellie looked at him in puzzlement. Didn't he realize that her Christmas wish had already come true?

Kellie sat on Santa's lap for quite a while that evening as she went over her list with him. It included your name. She told Santa how good you had been to Airedale Rescue this year.

Peace on Earth.
