On 4 July, Frances Martin of
OKLAHOMA AIREDALE RESCUE writes:
Craig's List: 'Free to good home, Airedale pups.'
So, I called: 'Is the pup a boy or a girl?'
'What do you want? I've got both!'
And so it goes . . . .
After a several-minute conversation,
I 'fessed up and told the man on the phone
that I helped out with Airedale Rescue and
would take any dogs he wanted to give me.
His reply: 'Come get them all, including the parents!
can't sell the pups and I'm done with Airedales.'
(YAY, YAY, YAY!!!!)
Next day, I drive out to the country and
pick up seven of the cutest little pups,
along with the very friendly, very tick-infested parents.
They go straight to the kennel,
where we set up an assembly line:
Bathe & soak in Dawn,
go outside to dry off,
come back in to be dipped,
go back outside to dry off.
Maddie before . . .
Maddie during . . .
We stopped counting the number of ticks that we pulled off.
Maddie after . . .
