PUPPIES AL FRESCO
And they are off!
A few days ago, I loaded all the puppies in the van
(I didn't think walking them over on leashes would be very easy)
and brought them over to the pen attached to the house.
They had a ball scampering in the leaves.
What is that?
Is there buried treasure here?
Learning staires
We want out NOW!
I fed them lunch there so they had a puppy picnic.
They were so tired, they didn't finish it;
they were loaded back into the van and returned
to the barn to rest and finish lunch later.
Puppy Picnic
The next day, I let them in a stall with an opened bale of straw in it.
Wheee! Puppies dove into the straw,
rolling over & scooting around with glee.
Such fun! They were moving so fast, all the pictures were blurred.

Big news!!
Today I took the puppies on a trip to meet a family
that wanted one if their older dog would accept it.
The meeting went fairly well - not love at first sight,
but looking certainly doable.
It was the first time for the puppies on leashes and they did very well.
Puppies' first time on leashes
Martha Hill met me to transport the other four to her house
so they can be taken to their new homes later this week.
Big stick takes cooperation from many
I think I will take a big nap tomorrow,
then clean out the puppy stall in the barn.
Maybe even book a day at the spa for me.
I will miss the little gals,
but life can go back to normal here and my dogs
will be able to go to the barn again
(they didn't like the little pesky puppies
and, for the most part, avoided the barn).
At Attention, Looking To Her Future
Next up will be getting Mattie to her surgery day in two weeks -
then it will be Mission Accomplished!
Later that day, Melinda Costa writes:
We have great news on the puppies!
They now all have families.
Miss Green (the little one blind in one eye) went to her new home today.
The other four will go to their new homes this weekend.
JACKIE McGUINNESS:
That last picture is so nice, and the good news that they all
have homes to go to makes me feel so happy today.
