RING IN THE NEW YEAR WITH
MATTIE & HER PUPS

Two aren't sure they want to go that far away from their barn.

Big happenings here on New Year's Day.

Gary & I took the puppies out to the riding arena
so they could branch out a little more; walk on gravel
on the way & sand in the arena for more new experiences.

Afterwards, I brought Mattie over to the house and let her nose around inside.

First thing she did was countersurf
(amazing that she can do that with her bad hind leg - one legged stand!)
and try to snatch a loaf of bread. Then she sniffed every
possible place for food, got into the trash, and then was put
on a leash to help me download this afternoon's puppy pictures.

Our Airedale grumbled at the intruder,
so I took Mattie back to the barn as soon as I was through.

Puppies seemed to be tired of cottage cheese,
so I fried some hamburger and defatted it,
then mixed a couple of tablespoons in with their kibble mush.
Oh my, did they ever love that!

Puppies had a New Year's party during the afternoon;
midnight is too late for them to be up.
