LET IT SNOW!

Blue really wants to go outside every day.
When I open the barn door to get the wheelbarrow out to dump,
there is no keeping her inside the barn.
The others try to get out, too,
but nodog is as determined as Blue.

I. WANT. OUT. NOW.

Maybe I won't go out after all.

We had a little snow, so they all got to experience the
cold wet stuff under their feet. All took it in stride.

It really amazes me that they are so brave,
altho one day when my dogs started howling at a distant siren,
the pups all took off for the safety of their stall!

Pups got a new toy. Tug-of-war is their favorite game . . .

. . . but cardboard boxes are fun, too.

Mattie had a vaginal discharge, so off to the vet she went.
Fortunately the vet wasn't concerned -
no bad smell, nor any bacteria on exam under the microscope.
She feels it is just Mattie's uterus finishing cleaning out.
Mattie has lost six pounds (that she couldn't afford to lose)
in the last two weeks, despite getting seven cups of premium food a day.
Vet says, "Wean those puppies now."
I had been separating her from the pups for the last two days during the day,
only letting her in with them at night, so it won't be an abrupt change.

Mattie has been coming into the house some more.
She seems quite at home and is housebroken.
I think she must have been a house dog earlier in her life.
Thank goodness she will become one again!

I think this couch looks more comfortable.

Yes, I think I'll lie down here.
