On 29 August, Lydia reports on Meghan's vet visit & progress:
The good news is that if she continues to progress in her healing, we don't have to go back to the vet. They removed her stitches; the incision looks great.
The vet observed her sitting & lying down (something she barely would do a week ago). Her tail is not yet all the way up. Meghan actually lay on her back yesterday with one paw to the sky. Of course, that was after a bit of codeine so she must have felt pretty good at that point!
Meghan panics while in the crate and needs to be with her Foster Mom Teri 24/7. Teri is a saint and stays with her.

The surgeon said it was okay to continue to let her be uncrated in a room with someone there. She also is released to begin short walks. The biggest concern with this type of surgery is a fall so she can go up & down stairs with assistance with a belly wrap or towel under the midsection just in case.
