Oscar play tug with Piper the Jack Russell & Amos

Scott writes:

Oscar is doing outstanding. He has been progressing very well; he is learning some house manners in particular. We have been working really hard to teach him he canŐt plow his way up on the couch and "on me" anytime he wants. Same thing with the bed; also we are working on the general things such as no jumping on the door/scratching at the window when he wants in and no jumping up on us when we walk in. Just your normal puppy stuff. He is progressing well with all that; this all makes it sound like he's a handful, but honestly he's not. He's no more trouble than our Jack Russell; he's really quite calm, just lacking some training is all.

We also are working on basic commands. He always knew how to "sit," but he couldn't stay in sit for more than a second. So we have him sitting until we say "ok" or "good boy," then he can release.

His medical issues are healing up very nicely and he seems to be as healthy as a bear. He's such a happy & playful boy.

Oscar is going to make a very fine dog companion and is the most loving dog I've met next to our Lab. He is just so full of affection; he wants to be petted and wants to be against his human constantly! It's very sweet.

The outpouring of support for Oscar has been humbling and is very appreciated; you are all amazing for helping this boy so much.

Scout is still with his foster family: Scott & Shannon, with dogs Amos, Piper, Muddy & Sheila. He is blending in very nicely and learning how to be good with other dogs and how to find balance between ruffhousing & relaxing. So things are going very well and he is transforming into a very balanced boy.
