Look how nicely Rocky sits in wait for his meds.
I make little meatballs out of canned dog food to
hide the pills in and he really believes he's
getting a treat.
COUNTERSURFING. YES, SOON I'LL BE ABLE TO COUNTERSURF!
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
This morning, Rocky went to see his favorite surgeon,
Dr. Hoch, and her dedicated tech, Katie. They were so
gentle with Rocky and he seemed quite pleased to see
them. Rocky has quite a following.
Dr. Hoch was pleased with Rocky's progress to date,
although she would have liked to have seen him begin
to use his new bionic leg which, so far, he has no interest
in using at all. When he walks, it just dangles behind him
and his knuckles drag on the floor. I need to encourage
him to put his paw to the pavement and it is something
I will work on with him.
He stood so still as Katie removed layers and layers of
bandages. My stomach felt a bit queasy just in anticipation
of what it would look like. Much to my relief. it wasn't
as bad or cumbersome as I thought it might be.
I was instructed in depth about how to clean the pins,
bathe the leg and rewrap the external fixator to protect
Rocky's leg & mine. I can certainly see how he
could do some damage to both of us if it's not padded a little.
Rocky enjoyed his trip out but is glad to be home and
resting comfortably in his crate. I foresee needing to start
using the collar to prevent him from trying to chew this
new torture device off of his leg. For now, though,
he seems quite uninterested in it and for that,
I am very grateful.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to help defray
the costs for Rockyıs medical care. He is a very worthy
& deserving young man who continues to astound me.
We will return to the Dr. next week for suture removals.
She really wants to see Rocky using his leg by then,
so send him lots of positive thoughts.
