Scout has become quite the little swimmer and can swim the entire length of the pool in no time at all now! Jennie, his therapist, did his stretching therapy in the water at this session because it seemed to be less painful for him. He is also on a new medication for nerve pain which seems to be helping him. She alternated between swimming & therapy on the pool stairs.

After finishing one of the swim cycles, Jennie guided him over to the stairs for more therapy and he stepped up onto the stair and was actually standing with his weight on his right foot! What a sight to see! And he did the same thing again a few more times. Jenni also said he was using his leg more when he was swimming than he had in the past. We are cautiously optimistic that his progess during this session is a sign of good things to come for him.

Scout had his first acupuncture appointment today. He did so well! We kept him busy with treats while Dee Dee, his acupunturist, inserted many needles into his hip & leg. After they were all in, he seemed to almost be soothed by the procedure. So much so that he stayed remarkably still (with the help of more treats) for the half hour Dee Dee said was necessary. There are no guarantees, but she told us she feels she will be able to help him. He has a second appointment on 5 April.

We are so grateful for all the support we have received for Scout.
He is such a lucky boy to have had all of you in 'his corner'
since he came into rescue so seriously injured.
We will never be able to adequately thank you.
