Sully had his surgery late today, around 4:30 p.m. and everything went well; he was in surgery for two hours. The procedure was more complicated than a "normal" amputation because of all the internal damaged & healed fractures, etc., caused by being struck by a car. However, the doctor was able to make the break at mid femur as opposed to at the hip. This is mostly just somewhat more aesthetically pleasing with the added benefit of allowing some protection for his "naughty bits" if he happens to fall.
Sully has a lot of healing and adjusting to go but he's a happy boy in a most wonderful foster home. Pictures and updates will continue.
Many, many thanks to all who've send prayers and good thoughts his way. Keep them coming.
