But first, isn't this hibiscus flower a beauty . . .
. . . last year, we had only TWO blossoms, I don't know why;
this year, the bush is blooming a bit more profusely.
It's a pity each blossom lasts only one day.
I was looking thru Amazon for an electric pole pruner,
and came across this . . .

Not only was it on sale, but I had enough Amazon/Synchrony points
that it only cost me $50, inexpensive enough to make it worth a trial.
I can hear you saying, "But, Andréa, we've read nothing
but you kvetching about all the lumberjacking in your neighborhood
since the law about needing a permit to cut down trees
was rescinded. What gives?!"
Well, yeah, but 1) we aren't cutting down any trees; and
2) IT'S ELECTRIC! Better yet, it's battery-powered.
We finally tried it today, and went straight for the
toughest plant to cut - BAMBOO!

There's a reason bamboo is used for fishing poles, floors,
and furniture.
For the past five years, Neal's been cutting it with a hedge trimmer,
but that took so much effort, especially if the stalk was not completely dead.
Being electric, the noise doesn't carry throughout all of Tarpon Woods.
Being battery-powered, we don't need an EXTREMELY LONG
extension cord, which is then a PITA to reroll.
For some strange reason, the entire outside of the house has only ONE outlet,
located by the front door. Very inconvenient.
Being only 4.5 pounds in weight, it's light enough for me to use;
we have three sets of triple palms; each costs $10 a head to trim;
which means we save $90 and only need to have our
HUMONGOUS palm trimmed yearly,
AND I can go in and cut off the palm "flowers"
before they become seeds and make a mess on the landscape stones.
So we have nothing but good to say about this chain saw;
even at the original price, it'd be worth it.
