WALLPAPER REMOVAL
22 SEPTEMBER 2011

Ph

One living room wall, one dining room wall &
one bathroom wall are wallpapered,
which has to be removed before the painters come.
Yes, we hired professional to do this big area . . .
it's just too much area to do, too many things to cover.
Neal also removed the moldings around the
patio doors to replace with new ones.

Ph

One smart thing we did many years ago was choose
the wall with the LEAST square footage to wallpaper,
making it a bit easier to face this task.

Ph

The wallpaper itself was peelable;
it was the glue that had to be wetted down & scraped off.

Thank you, Maureen Scott, for telling me about
wetting down the glue, or we'd STILL be scraping!

While I did all the low areas . . .

. . . Neal did all the high areas . . .

And of course, Miss Chrissi-One-Eye had to be
in the MIDDLE of the work area . . . for a dog who
was as abused as she was,
she cannot BEAR to be away from us.

Ph Ph

We also had to take down all the prints, drawings, etchings, & photographs
that have adorned these walls for years. They are now all in storage.

All the pictures of Misha (@RB) & April (@RB) had to come down . . .

Ph

. . . leaving lots of marks on the walls
(can you tell we live within a mile of a coal plant?)

Ph

By the time the painters came,
we'd only cleaned off living room &
the dining room walls; it took longer than we anticipated.
We thought to remove the bathroom wallpaper
while the painting was being done, and if necessary,
we would just paint that room ourselves.
