AND NOW FOR SOMETHING
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT:
FISH!

Way back in July when we began this project,
I had the idea to surprise Neal (a/k/a Mr. Scuba)
with a REEF bathroom. I began gathering
accessories, beginning with a shower curtain . . .

I like how the sand on the curtain bottom
blends into the floor coloring . . .

Shower curtain rings
(made of clay, NOT real sand dollars or starfish) . . .

LOTS of decals . . .

Ornaments I found, and a tridacna clam . . .

Ph

. . . like those we swam with in Australia

New towels . . .

MORE decals . . .

A fishy border (which was a PITA to put up) . . .

A new sink . . .

A scuba diver's bathroom
should have a mermaid.

Neal has swum (swam?)
with three out of four things
in this metal wall sculpture.
Guess which one he has
NOT swam (swum?) with.

So Neal comes home, and I wait for him to go into the bathroom.
Which he doesn't, for hours.
FINALLY, as he is unpacking, he goes in to put away something.
He sees the towels and says, "Oh, new towels. It's about time," and walks out.
(He is the poster man for Tunnel Vision.)
RIGHT TO WHERE I'm STANDING . . .
"What?" "Turn around and look again," I say.
THEN he was surprised . . . and pleased.
(We put up the border together some weeks later.)
