I hadn't planned on repotting the Norfolk Island Pines
(a six-dollar impulse purchase at WalMart at Christmas 2019)
but I noticed the roots had cracked the plastic pot, so into a new pot they went, too.

REPOTTING

There are actually FOUR pines in here; I would love to plant them in the yard
(they grow monstrously tall here), but I'm afraid squirrels will damage them,
as they have one of our Long Leaf Pines.

This morning reminded me so much of the year I worked in a greenhouse,
The House of Geraniums, as a requisite for my degree in Horticulture.
Yep, it was all geraniums, all the time. And Christmas wreaths.
We grew them (the geraniums, not the wreaths) all from cuttings;
talk about a BORING job!! But I learned a lot.
It was YEARS before I could again tolerate the smell of geraniums and plant them.

I inherited the green thumb from my Mom . . .
she could grow ANYthing, 'til my dad made her give it up.

She & I loved to watch THALASSA CRUSO
whose shows are now available on YouTube.
Even if you don't grow plants, she's a hoot to watch!
Her attitude of "benign neglect" of her plants is one to which I subscribe.

I'm much happier how the cart looks now . . .

REPOTTING

. . . and there is less likelihood of problems with the plants being so crowded together . . .

REPOTTING

It's time to clean up, with CairnDaddy's help
(he also rescued the glove I'd sucked into the wet/dry vac),
then jump in the pool (the temps are reaching the high 90s by now) . . .

REPOTTING

While we're eating lunch, Emmie has to sit on the cushionless couch one more time . . .

REPOTTING

. . . she thinks she's so cute. Well, actually, she is,
and she has become much more sociable in the past few months . . .

REPOTTING

GOOD JOB, MOM!
