OUR HRISTMAS DAY
---|---|
Because my father took my Mother home for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, she & I had our Holiday celebration on 26 December.
| |
I brought her to my suite, where I had a small Christmas Tree (very small . . . about six inches tall - see above), Rico's Howliday Stocking, gifts for her, and several gifts that my generous Cyberfriends had sent to me so I would have something to open, too!
The first gift she opened was the book, Cat Rules. She immediately became immersed in it, so I let her read for a while.
Isn't her Scottie Vest pretty? I gave it to her the Day Before Christmas, to coordinate with my Scottie Sweater, given to me by my Aunt last year . . .
Meanwhile, Rico had found his stocking, hung off the desk with care, and the Santa Toy inside, so he was having a great time, playing with his new toy and NOT having it taken away by ari, whose favorite toy is ALWAYS the one Rico has. (Don't feel TOO sorry for him - it goes the other way, too!)
| |
The first thing that happens, of course, is that Santa's nose gets pulled off . . .
. . . after which a great deal of time & effort are expended to de-beard poor Santa!
Isn't Rico a handsome Howliday Dog, with his new red collar (and a lead to match, of course)? The fabric for this bandana & belly band set are from CyberFriend Lori Taylor. Every year, she sends fabric of her choice; I make a set of Howliday Bandanas for her Airedales Flo & Forge's Howliday Card, and I use the leftover fabric for another project.
Notice the bells on his waist - this was actually a dog collar I won, but it seemed more appropriate around his waist . . . he sounded like the Hallmark Jingle Pals whenever he shook; he also seemed to walk with more "bounce" whenever he wore his bells, to make them jingle. He certainly knows how to get attention . . .
