Literally at the crack of dawn . . .
. . . we are at the Richard Bong State Recreation Area in Kenosha County. We try to get out there before dawn and before the crowds, so that we can have the place to ourselves and see the Sandhill Cranes fly from their nesting area (right of this runway area) to their eating grounds (left of this area). This means getting up around 4:30 a.m. and getting on the road by 5:00 a.m. for the 30-minute drive.
