IN THE BEGINNING . . .

Several years ago, Tim experienced his mid-life crisis by buying an airplane. I was thrilled, not so much because I love flying but because I figured no matter what I did during my mid-life crisis, I was guaranteed no complaint from him! So I spent time deciding whether I wanted a red Corvette or a new puppy.

My mid-life crisis arrived while I was recuperating from foot surgery and feeling really old. I checked the garage - it was full. I checked the Airedales - we were certainly full in that department. It might have been the pain pills but an idea started to hatch. Rolling for Rescue was born!

I found myself thinking: What if much like a walk-a-thon, I asked people to sponsor me while I rode my bike say around 400 or 500 miles? I enjoy biking but I've never done anything like this. Tim said he would go along for support. Any monies collected would be donated to National Airedale Rescue. I'd pay all the expenses so every dime can go to the dogs.

Andréa Denninger volunteered to organize the website. Sally Babcock created the logo, which VetteMan then animated. Rolling for Rescue has taken on its own momentum . . . I'm just along for the ride.
