As I was talking with Christine about the pictures, this missive from her Mother popped into my mailbox:

It is 6:00 p.m. and Christine & Tim are at Canajoharie, New York. They called after they had a dip in the pool at the middle school. Christine says that they rode up a 220-foot elevation change. She is real proud of herself for making it up the hill. Tim says she isn't a HILL SLUG anymore. She was passing people who were riding and also walking their bikes. She wants everyone to know that hills are all relative; the people who run this tour also run a tour that is all hills. Tomorrow is a short trip into Scotia, New York.

My husband has taken the bandage off my head and my incision looks real good. We're going out to dinner tonight.

Decisions, decisions: To take the road for a hilly ten-mile detour?
Or take the flat but very muddy flooded trail?
We took the road . . .
