Gracie from Fritz & Gracie went home today with her new family, Sue & Nick; 16-year-old twins, Ella & Max; older daughter Jenny and her 6-year-old daughter, Olive.

Olive was so excited about this new puppy that she just had to come with Grandma today to pick her up! I was very pleased with the way she was around Gracie . . . you can tell she has had dogs in her life.

Everyone in the family is so excited to be getting Gracie and I think the feeling is mutual! She wouldn't stop kissing Sue all over her face when she came to get her. Such a little love bug she is . . . .

I am going to miss her, but Fritz, Joe & I have an open invitation to visit at any time, since they live in our subdivision. This will be our first foster out of about 23 that lives three minutes from us! It will be nice to see Gracie grow up. She is going to be a beauty, and will be treated like a princess . . . isn't doing dog rescue the best ever??

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
