Gracie & Fritz went to HAWS (Humane Animal Welfare Society) to get "fixed" yesterday. We couldn't even get to the front desk to let them know we were here . . . everyone wanted to pet them; a lot of ohhhhing & ahhhhhing . . . but they are so adorable and too hard to resist.

We took them back to where the surgery was going to be and met a few of the people in charge of the SNIP program, Cassie & Jenny. I sat down at the table to fill out the paperwork and there was this fairly large window right in front of me. I just glanced up & out; there, much to my surprise & horror, was this huge white dog cut wide open and being operated on . . . right in front of me! NOT my cup of tea, for sure. Of course, Joe thought it was pretty neat.

look how stiff he is, under the influence!

We got a call saying all went well with their surgeries, but they both had Coccidia and were treated for it. Joe & I went to pick up our babies . . . and they didn't want to wake up! After some sweet-talking and a little nudge, they started moving around. I have to say it did break my heart when they were crying and Gracie was even moaning a bit.

We just wanted to get them home and let them go back to sleep & rest. I made up two really soft beds for them and we put them in our big x-pen. They slept for a very long time. Neither one ate or drank much . . . all they wanted to do was sleep, which is good for them.

Today Fritz was wanting to do everything he isn't supposed to do . . . imagine that! Gracie isn't feeling all that well and was so quiet. She wanted to be held for a good part of the day and who am I to say no to an offer like that? She still isn't feeling all that great; she threw up her dinner and then threw up again. Going to call the vet tomorrow morning. Maybe it's "normal," but want to make sure.

She & Fritz don't leave each other's side. If one whines or cries, the other one is right there to see what's going on. Joe & I were saying how weird it is to have these two amazing Cairn puppies but have it be so quiet in the house!! We're resting now because it won't be long and they'll be backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!
