ROSIE VISITS

I had a trip over the past couple of days (I'm a flight attendant, as is Tim); when we are away, our landlord (who lives downstairs) takes care of our dog. Given Rosie's skittishness around strangers and noises, I must tell you I was very anxiety-ridden about having her downstairs with the landlord, though he himself owns two dogs and is a patient, caring dog lover like us. I gave Tom all the instructions on her food, crating her, etc. and departed for my weekend away. Tom assured me that he would call if anything was problematic, as he would be home to care for the dogs.
When I returned yesterday, I immediately went downstairs to retrieve Rosie and see how things went. To my pleasure & relief, Tom told me that not only was Rosie very well behaved during the weekend, but that she got along famously with his black lab, Venus, and his Kerry Blue Terrier, Shenanigans (an aptly named dog, trust me . . .), sleeping alongside Venus for naps, roughhousing not only with Tipsy our Cairn, but with Shen as well! No aggression or growling whatsoever. (Rosie is a "growler" during play, however . . . you'd think someone was getting mauled!) She used the doggie door effortlessly. Ate well and shared a Beggin' Strip with Tipsy. TONS of puppy kisses when I brought her upstairs and released her back into HER house!!!
I think we have a winner here folks! She has a way to go with her skittishness & shyness, but I think she's made great headway already! We did find out last night that she is terrified of thunder & lightning! Placing her in her crate took care of most of that anxiety, but it should be noted . . . she does NOT like it!
