Ruby is a retired little breeder from Merry Dawn Kennels in Minonk, Illinois. This is the same family-owned kennel that Maggie Mae (one of Eileen Czablewski's dogs) & Roxy the Peanut came from; I know Eileen got other dogs here, too, before "my time". Also Bonnie who was adopted last year by Bonnie & Jim Weinheimer of Yorkville, Illinois, and whose story is HERE.

Ruby is Bonnie's daughter and is 5-1/2-years old. She just weaned her last litter; breeder Cathy Weese said Ruby has had about 20 pups over the years. Cathy just feels that it's time for Ruby to retire and we're glad she is!

When I walked into the kennel office, Ruby ran up to greet me. She had just been bathed and had a red bow in her hair. Cathy cried when she handed her over to me; she said Ruby was one of her favorites and I can see why. She is every bit as pretty & sweet & wonderful as her mother.

She knows how to go up & down steps and follows me everywhere. She has helped Alice [The Tres de Mayo] come out of her shell a bit; last night, they slept curled up together.

Today she goes to Joann & Tom Carlson of Waukegan, Illinois, whose foster, Bernie [A Weekend with Bernie], was adopted yesterday.

PATTI SUNDLING:
Ruby has a wonderful personality. And is a beautiful little girl. We got to meet her last month when we went to Cathy's and picked up Leo. My Rosie is also from Merry Dawn. Eileen picked her up there four years ago.
