BACK TO THE VET . . .
AND SADEE'S PROGRESS

14-24 JUNE 2016

After a few more baths, some more doses of her meds,
Sadee's vet visit today went swimmingly,
so to speak.

She amused everyone with her socks; unfortunately,
I forgot to bring a camera.

She STILL has a yeast infection between each toe
and around her dew claw,
which is why she's wearing socks.

Her eyes look better; however, they are not yet producing tears,
so we continue with the current and a new medication.

Her ear continues to show improvement,
so no operation will be necessary;
just continuation of current ear flushes
and cleanings after each bath,
now being done every three to four days.
She is starting on an oral anti-fungal clean out
the yeast infections on her feet.
She now has eyelashes above her left eye, which is no longer swollen.

Dr. Frazee stopped in to see her and was amazed not only with
Sadee's physical improvement,
but also her attitudenal improvement;
ears up and eyes bright,
interested in what was going on around her.
Dr. Frazee said Sadee got lucky to end up with me.
"No," I said, "she got lucky she ended up in CRUSA!
Every one of our foster parents would do the same."

FLORIDA

As I had promised her, we went to Flapjacks
for an outside breakfast; she garners attention,
which in turn encourages discussion about rescue in general
and CRUSA in particular.

She goes back for another recheck in two weeks.

Tonight, for the first time, she jumped on the couch of her own volition.
She looked pretty proud of herself, too!

15 JUNE

Today, she slept on my lap for over an hour,
just being petted and rubbed. I wonder how long it's been -
if ever - since she was rubbed and petted, as she stunk so badly
for who-knows-how-long . . . .

She had bath #11 tonight, with ear flush #4.

You never give up.

Awesome job.

23 JUNE

Sadee decides SHE wants to be a ParrotHead, too . . .

24 JUNE: FRUSTRATION IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION

So I discover that Sadee has been chewing ABOVE her socks . . .

Ph

. . . I had to come up with a way to hold socks UP without using rubber bands . . .

Ph

(I thought of mitten minders, but knew I'd never find THOSE in South Florida!)

Ph

She looks like she is wearing a garter belt and stockings,
but it gets the job done!
Now I have to think of something similar for the front legs.

BACK TO THE VET . . .
AND SADEE'S PROGRESS

27 JUNE 2016

We're going back to foot baths more frequently
and TEMARIL-P twice a day (I'd been trying to reduce
to once a day, but she is back to chewing her paws).
And now her lady parts need to be medicated with Panalog, also.
Aaaaand the socks will need to stay on all four paws.
She may be going on a stronger anti-fungal medication.
She still isn't producing her own tears and a new medication
has been special-ordered for that issue, also.

Sadee is a very patient patient, letting anything be done to her,
even giving a kiss or two whilst being investigated all over.

Next visit, 12 July.

Oh, did I mention that she was on a poop strike this a.m.?
The dog that has been on a regular schedule since she came here,
decided that since I had to bring in a sample this morning,
she'd just hold it in. Not forever, tho, so I brought in a sample an hour later.
No results yet, but I assume all the worm issues have been resolved.

When all these skin/allergy issues have been resolved,
and they WILL BE resolved, Sadee will still need a dental.

The report has come that Sadee no longer has parasites.
One issue resolved . . . .

I see also that she has lost 1.6 pounds.
