Shell Lewis writes:
Had a long talk with Will Beavers today who is my friend in California.
He is temp fostering Leroy until we can fly him out.
I found this incredibly sad . . .
When Will went to Carson to get Leroy,
they confirmed that he was scheduled to be euthanized on Sunday
(he got him on Friday) and initially they didn't want to release him
because there was nothing on his notes that authorized his release.
Will spoke with one of the regular volunteers there who had been trying
to spend time with Leroy and said that Leroy had not eaten in two days. . .
he was that depressed. He had given up on life.
Given up on ever being saved.
That broke my heart.
But he's a different dog now, that's for sure!

BETTE BOYERS:
You guys are Pawsome!
MARSHA AARONS:
This is so heartbreaking to me. They'd rather put him to sleep than send him off for another chance. Thank you, Shell, for helping to rescue him and special thanks to the wonderful person fostering him. You are truly rescue angels. You may need to change his name from Sad Sad Leroy to Happy.
