The shelter indicated that Sammy would need dental work,
and I could tell his mouth was sensitive,
so I was able to get an appointment with my Florida vet clinic
the day after Sammy came here.
While awaiting Dr. Mann, I thought to take some pics of Sammy.
He wasn't having it, at all . . .
C'mon, Sammy . . . look at the camera.
Please?
PRETTY PLEASE?
LOOKIT THE CAMERA, DAGNABBIT!
Well, that's a little better.
Sammy weighed in at 21 pounds; he has lenticular sclerosis,
which means he can't read anything close up;
his fecal exam was clear. He started on HeartGard today.
Dr. Mann confirmed that there is a LOT of tartar and
peridontal disease present, so Sammy starts antibiotics
on Friday; dental surgery is scheduled on Monday . . .
wish him your best!
Vet Tech Megan & Dr. Mann hold Sammy, who FINALLY faces the camera,
but doesn't look very HAPPY about it,
Sammy was a gentleman throughout the entire process
of being prodded, poked, having his mouth opened and
a thermometer stuck up his behind. Not growly at all.
