SAMMY'S PHOTO OP

27 AUGUST 2015

Sammy was going to be featured in the CRUSA newsletter,
Carin' For Cairns, in hopes of garnering some interest in him.

I TRIED to take ONE nice picture of him for the article:

SAMMY GETS AN APPLICATION
AND A HOME VISIT

31 AUGUST 2015

Patricia Yarnot, who lives sorta near me in Florida
and now has an Airedale & two Cairns
graciously agreed to accompany me on the home visit . . .

After meeting in
a mall parking lot,
we made our way to meet
Scott Greenwood, Sr. & Jr.,
and Louis the Dog.

Ph

Sammy immediately ran around the large fenced yard,
marking everything as HIS . . . Louis didn't seem to care.
Sammy played FETCH, running along with Louis
and bringing the ball back to Scott.

We knew we'd found Sammy's new home.

So, on 4 September, Sammy went HOME!

Marking the FRONT
yard this time!

Poopin' in his own back yard.

Sammy: OK, I got this.
Scott's my new best friend.
You can leave now . . .
I'm stayin' here.

Louis: Will there be treats?

CRUSA would like to thank
Jackie Ike for finding &
rescuing Sammy;
Eileen Kemp for doing
the reference checks;
and Patricia Yarnot for
coming along for the home visit.

The next day, Scott writes:

Sammy had a great first night. He is still a little wary of us,
so Scott & I are giving him his space to get comfortable.
He had a restless night, but no issues.
He has enjoyed the back yard and has been on several walks.

10 September:

Sam is doing great;
he is warming up a
little more each day.
He & Louie are pals!

15 September:

Here is a Sam "Sammy" Greenwood update:

Sam visited his new vet, Dr. Trakas, today and was great!
Visit went well, but we need to keep an eye on his left eye
as there might be a cataract issue at some point.
Some medicated shampoo to use by his back side and tail,
but all and all, he is in great shape.

Thank you again for all of your assistance in the adoption process.
I find it hard to believe that someone would give up such a great little guy!

11 December:

He's fine; sometimes he just needs his space.
I read online that this is a Cairn trait. He is starting to come around;
I actually get to pet him on occasion! It's all good!

15 December:

Sam got groomed yesterday and is now a very handsome boy.
Traci, the groomer at the vet, said he was a perfect gentleman!

19 July 2016:

Sam was joined by
CRUSA Rescue
CHLOE FROM OCALA.

You can read her story HERE,
and see a video of them
walking together HERE
