Saylor is in ICU and is getting oxygen & breathing treatments. Shively is one of the best vet clinics in the Louisville/southern Indiana area. People drive great distances to come to Shively and know that their animals are getting excellent care. They are a 24/7 hospital with a doctor & staff there at all times. He is getting around-the-clock care. They are doing everything that is humanly possible to get this little guy well.
I am worried out of mind about the little guy; I only had him at my house for a week and he stole my heart. I have not slept well; I have visited him every day and I call three or four times a day to check on him. If I could stay at the hospital with him I would.
I am sending reports to BJ & Andréa, because I don't have a lot of time to check emails and respond. Thanks to everyone for their prayers & thoughts.
BTW, my Rusty is on medication for kennel cough that he got from Saylor when I brought him into my home. And yes, I kept Saylor isolated when he came in.
I'm now my way to the vet office to visit Saylor. Then I will go out to the country to visit my mom, who is really sick. No rest for the weary.
PAM SPACEK:
I am pulling for Saylor to make it through.
PAM SIMPSON:
I pray the oxygen & breathing treatments will keep him going until the meds can kick in and do their job!

Went to the clinic this morning to visit with Saylor. He was not good. He is still not eating and he wouldn't even walk around the room this morning. He did perk up his little ears when he heard my voice, but that was about it. He wouldn't even lick my hand today.
I just sat and held and rocked him and burst into tears. I have cried all day thinking about him and praying he pulls through this horrible illness.
Dr. Sara came in to talk to me, and reassured me that everything looks & sounds bad right now, but that they are doing all that is humanly possible to get him through this.
When I got home, Dr. Brian called me to let me know that they were changing one of his antibiotics and giving him Lasix to help move the congestion. He is getting breathing treatments every four hours and they are checking his oxygen levels every two hours. That is all I have to report today.
[LASIX: Furosemide (fyoor oh' se mide)
Furosemide, a 'water pill,' is used to reduce the swelling and fluid retention caused by various medical problems, including heart or liver disease. It is also used to treat high blood pressure. It causes the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water & salt from the body into the urine.]
SHELLY SIMINSKI:
My prayers are with Saylor. God bless him. Hang in there, little man.

It is 9:40 pm. I just called the hospital and they said Saylor had just gotten his breathing treatment and was resting comfortably as he could. He has not eaten as of yet today, but has food in his crate if he wants it.
I will go back over tomorrow after going out to see my mother who is not feeling well. She lives an hour away from me. Didn't get to go today. Will update tomorrow after my visit with Saylor.
SHELLY SIMINSKI:
God bless you, Saylor and keep you safe.; you have a lot of people pulling for you . . . please keep on trying! You're gonna have a happy life!
CHARLOTTE ANDERSON:
You are such a trooper, Peggy. I've been in your situation, and I know how helpless you feel . . . and scared. Hang in there, and hold the little guy close to your heart whenever you pick him up.
MARILYN ROYLE:
Big HUGS to you, Peggy, coming from the Royle family (Gypsy, Frosty, Marilyn & Jeff). Please know that we are all thinking of you and hoping for the best.
SUE LOSINGER:
Peggy, please also take care of yourself. You don't want to get burned out. Thanks for caring so much for Saylor. We cross our paws and say a pray every night for you guys.
