SAYLOR SAILS UNDER
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

14 AUGUST 2010

Peggy writes:

With a heavy heart and tears, I regret to inform everyone that Saylor went to Rainbow Bridge in the wee early hours this morning. I am so heart sick I could die. He was just the cutest little fellow. He stole my heart the minute I set my eyes on him just two weeks from today. I haven't talked to the vet yet this morning. I knew when I left him last night that things weren't good, and it just killed me to leave but I knew he was in the best of hands. They did everything humanly possible for him and then some.

So in memory of Saylor:

Good-bye, little sailor; have a wonderful time in that big vast sea at Rainbow Bridge. You stole my heart and I will never forget you. I'm sure my Ali & Heidi greeted you with open paws. Frolic & sail like the wind and know that all here are mourning your passing. I loved you, little guy, with all my heart.

Your Mom for just a little while. Peggy

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . .

I'm so sorry to hear about Saylor. BJ called me this morning to let me know. You did the best you could for him, and he knew he was VERY MUCH loved for the short time that you had him. He is no longer in pain, or sick and is playing with Ali and all the others that went before him. He will never be forgotten.
You're in my thoughts & prayers.

Gr

BENNIE JONES:
Oh Peggy, with tears in my eyes, I write this. You shared and we all loved Saylor and cheered you on and Saylor also. You made him feel loved and his pain was eased and he gave you the grateful licks of Thank You. He tasted chicken and cottage cheese, food for the Prince he was, and not left with duct tape and in a crowded cage with agressive animals.

He was watched over by helping angels that kept his pain less and his breathing eased as he dreamed of running and playing, making those steps to see all our pets there greeting him, telling him, "Come on Saylor, our owners have told us you are coming and we are here to greet you and tell you about how it really is."

Saylor knew the good life and it was because of you, Peggy; my heart and family thank you and CRUSA members each and every time a dog is helped. I wish I had a million to give; I don't, but it just makes us try harder to find other ways and try to give what we can, because together we can help dogs like Saylor earlier and also help them transition to the Rainbow Bridge with dignity.

Thank you CRUSA. I am sad, but happy that Saylor had Peggy & her family & all the members of CRUSA for support.

Bennie, hugging her Elliot & Rosie & even the cat, feeling so thankful they were saved, and saying prayers for Saylor.

Gr

KATIE KNEESEL:
I'm so saddened and in tears to learn about little Saylor crossing the Rainbow Bridge. The poor little guy, I hope he is happy and free of pain in heaven.
