When the elderly couple was not up for the rigors of dealing with two Cairn puppies, the pups were moved to a relative's home, and then to another, and another. This continued until they were four years old, when they both were surrendered to a shelter in South Carolina.
Terry Gray, CRUSA's VP of Volunteers, picked up the pair at a Wendy's in Coosawhatchee, South Carolina, and transported them to her home in Orange Park, Florida.

After a short time there, it was back into their crates for the next leg of the journey . . . Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, a pristinely-maintained large freshwater marsh located in Micanopy, Florida, where they were picked up by Foster Mom Charlotte Anderson & her Cairn, Suzie.
Next stop: Tampa, Florida, where everyone settled in and began the "getting-to-know-you" dance.
After a few days, Seggie made another short trip to her official foster home in Brandon to live with her devoted Foster Mom, Debbie Chadwick.
