Shell writes:

Molly Lindstrom has been with us since she came from the kennel in downstate Illinois. She's been an absolute delight! At the Seniors 4 Seniors event, a gal named Barbara Lindstrom (who recently lost an aged Cairn) drove all the way from South Bend, Indiana (about three hours away). She instantly fell for Molly Lindstrom and the feeling seemed to be mutual, although Molly Lindstrom has never met anyone or anything that she didn't like.

Barbara subsequently filled out an application and today, Molly Lindstrom went to her new home (just about a half-mile from the beautiful Notre Dame campus).

Holly, Barbara's Westie, was on hand to greet Molly Lindstrom, as was Barbara's neighbor, Marie. Skippy & Molly Lewis emptied out poor Holly's toy box. When I left, Molly Lindstrom looked very content in her new home.

Holly gets ready to sign Molly Lindtrom's Adoption Contract

This was a bittersweet day for Barbara. She recently lost her 54-year-old daughter and said that her daughter had really wanted her to get another Cairn and that this adoption "felt as though it was just meant to be".

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?
