Last week I was contacted a woman in Madison,
referred to me by Diane Pease of Wisconsin.
The woman & her husband were moving from
a trailer to an apartment that did not take pets
and wanted to surrender Shadow,
their four-year-old Cairn.
Shadow is not current on anything and has never been neutered.
He has never been on heartworm meds nor is he on any flea preventive.
That was on Wednesday and their move was Saturday . . .
not a whole lot of time for Gayle to figure out a plan,
particularly since she was trying to bring in two other dogs last week.
But there's not much Gayle isn't able to do;
she & Shannon Radosevich devised a plan whereby
Shadow would temporarily stay with Shannon & Joe in Wisconsin,
then move down to Marla Lunt in Illinois.
He's with Shannon & Joe right now.
Shannon reports that he is adorable and loves belly rubs,
but he is very stubborn and has obviously had no training.
When he doesn't get his way or is made to do something
he doesn't want to do, he shows it,
so he's going to need training & structure.
Shannon adds:
Shadow is a cute little guy . . . friendly and very loving!
We are learning his likes and dislikes, getting to know him.
The most obvious thing about Shadow is he has no manners!
We realize this is all new to him: new house, new people, another dog,
so we cutting him some slack for now.
He's oblivious to Maggy, could not care less . . . he sniffs her and walks away!
Maggy, as her usual self, looked at him and went back to sleep:
Ho hum another dog!
He'll be getting neutered and all up-to-date with his vaccinations on Thursday.
