I tried to catch a picture of Andy carrying Shiloh
around by his harness, but they wouldn't cooperate.
The glowing eyes reflect the energy state these two are in.

Shiloh

Cool, this guy comes with his own carrying handle.

They've been wrestling on the couch this morning.
It's pretty funny watching Andy on his back
with Shiloh on top, playing "bitey face".
I don't think that Shiloh needs to be an only dog;
in fact. I think he'd be lonely.

It appears that we have his EPI under control.
We are now working on his chronic ear infections.
He came with a couple of institution-size bottles
of ear cleanser from his former vet.
Which kinda tells a story.

SHILOH GOES BACK TO ILLINOIS . . .
. . . AND HOME

21 NOVEMBER 2009

Shell Lewis writes:

Susan & Ed Talaczynski of Illinois have a three-year-old Westie named Chopper who has an enzyeme defiency called EPI that requires a special diet and supplements in order to properly process food. When they saw little Shiloh online, who also suffers with EPI, they decided to add him to their household. Shiloh was originally surrendered to CRUSA by an Illinois family who was on the verge of putting to sleep because of his condition.

Chuck writes:

You'd think with six other critters we wouldn't notice one furry face missing. WRONG!

No more Shiloh to running furiously back & forth with Andy in the back yard. No more crashes, thuds & booms coming from the living room as Andy & Shiloh played & wrestled. No more "RRR"s " growls as Andy & Shiloh played bitey face in the hallway. No more Shiloh constantly bouncing in & out of my lap as he looked for attention, then heard a "noise" that had to be investigated and noisily challenged (like maybe a squirrel with a bad case of gas three blocks away). No more fighting off a Cairn hellbent on steamcleaning our faces in bed at bedtime. No more having to prepare food 20 minutes ahead of time while listening to Shiloh demanding to be fed "right now". And last but not least, only four dogs snoozing contentedly piled on top of me in my recliner.

Surprising, the little things that you suddenly notice are no more.

On 4 December, Shell Lewis writes:

I visited with Shiloh & his family for a few moments
last Wednesday and snapped this pic. He is SO happy;
he & Chopper are very good pals.

Shiloh

They really look a lot alike and if you can believe it,
Chopper makes Shiloh look "subdued".
He's a wild child but a very happy one.
