I had to wait a while at the restaurant as my room was not yet ready when I arrived.

INDONESIA

The restaurant goes back quite a ways, is alongside the pool and open to the air all around

INDONESIA

While I waited for my room at the Anumana, I was given a welcome drink;
felt good as I was HOT HOT HOT from traveling.

INDONESIA

I was able to get online and send Andréa some email,
the first since early in the morning on 20 May, when I headed off to Luban Bajo and the dive boat.
I also decided to have a beer and a sandwich for lunch.

My room number

First floor, pool side which meant sliding doors to a balcony with steps descending to the pool

And fresh fruit in the room

Also, along with breakfast there were two fresh bottles of water (600ml)
in the room each day as part of my package.
It's important to stay hydrated in the heat and humidity.
In the middle of the day the heat index was 102 to 110F.
The best time to do things were either very early in the morning or late at night.

View of the pool and my room from the restaurant

My room is the center one, just to the right of the big leaf.
Counting from the right side of the photograph,
the fifth and sixth lounge chairs are under my balcony.

View from the rooftop looking off to the rice fields and the Monkey Forest

Lots of carvings of gods . . .

INDONESIA

. . . along the street

INDONESIA

Monkeys predominate because we are within a block of the Monkey Forest and temples there.

INDONESIA

You can get your canine fix

Lots of street dogs around
the hotel and an animal (mostly dog)
rescue place across the street.
Looked, BUT DID NOT TOUCH.
Didn't want to risk
getting bit before my trip,
or catching any hitchhikers
the doggies may be totin' around.
