ZOEY CROSSES THE RAINBOW BRIDGE 21 JULY 2018 BJ writes: I just received a message from Michael & John that ZOEY passed in her sleep. I am in tears. I thanked both of them for giving her a loving home and showing her what it was to be clean and taken care of. She was a happy little girl and played with their Cairns and them. RIP, little girl; you were a love. PATRICIA YARNOT: How incredibly sad. Happy that she passed in a loving home. DOREEN MUNDIE: This little one is so cute. I know CRUSA made a huge difference in her short life. Sometimes living is just too hard. I am so sorry this little pup died before its heart was healed of neglect! But, without CRUSA, there would have been no love at all. JACKIE IKE: Oh how sad . . . RIP, sweet one! RAINBOW BRIDGE Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, she breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together . . . Author Unknown MY BAGGAGE Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed, All nicely tucked in my warm new bed. I'd like to open my baggage Lest I forget, There is so much to carry - So much to regret. Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top - Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss, And there by my leash hide Fear and Shame. As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave - I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain. I loved them, the others, the ones who left me, But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me. Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack? Or will you just look at my things And take me right back? Do you have the time to help me unpack? To put away my baggage, To never re-pack? She was a rescue, and my heart is with rescue, but I also wanted to experience - at least once! - an Airedale puppy. Kent is now retired and home all day, and he too thought it was a good time to take on a youngster. So I reached out to a few breeders with the intent of just getting on a waiting list, only to be told by one that they had a male available. After much soul searching (was it too soon after our loss?) and consultation with several folks about how a male Airedale pup would work out with our 13-year-old (but healthy and still pup-like) male Welsh terrier, we decided to go for it. So on April 22nd, we rejoined the Airedale ranks and welcomed a 17-week-old puppy into our home. He was born on Christmas Eve, and we've named him Jolly. His registered name is Jet Aire's 'Tis the Season by Golly. He is now five months old, and I am happy to say that he and Geoffrey have worked out splendidly together. Here's a recent picture of Geoffrey that I love. And here's one of the two of them together just after Jolly got here (so his ears are still glued).
