ROSIE
(f/k/a RAIZEL)
GOES HOME

Sarah writes:

Rosie was adopted on August 11 by a wonderful family in Chattanooga, Tennessee. They were willing & able to take care of all of her medical issues, and already have! They had four teeth removed and had her mammary tumor removed.

They were so excited to adopt her, and it looks like Rosie has happily settled in and is thriving with her new family. They are truly great people.

On 19 August, Linette writes:

We took the baby to the Vet this morning; they ended up removing four toothers and her mammary tumor and are working on her ears . . . they were sloshing we could hear it. They kept her overnight and we are missing her; going when they open at 7:30 to pick her up! They said they left her some teeth to chew and gave her a vaccine for peridontal disease (I did not know there was such a thing!).

WE LOVE the ROSIE; she looked at us so sad when we took her this morning, I think she thought we were not coming back . . . that's not happening - we are having Rosie withdrawals tonight!

Aren't I pretty, after my trim?

BRENDA KELLEY:

Rosie is doing so well and is so loved. Her new family wouldn't hear of CRUSA paying for her mammary tumor & teeth removal. They said they wanted to take care of their little girl and CRUSA could use that money for another cairn in need.

On 22 August, Linette writes: Dr. Dickenson called this morning; Rosie's mammary tumor was malignant, Howeverm the good news is that he is pretty sure he got it all. We are going to watch her for new tumors. She should be able to get her staples out on Friday. She is doing really well, other than we canš't give her a bath right now (stitches) and even though I have been giving her the Atopica & Benadryl both, she is itchy & biting at her leg, so we just try to redirect her attention as much as possible.

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed,
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed.
I'd like to open my baggage
Lest I forget,
There is so much to carry -
So much to regret.

Hmm . . . Yes there it is, right on the top -
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my leash hides Fear and Shame.
As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.
Will you add to my baggage?
Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things
And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage,
To never re-pack?
I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage -
Will you still want me?

BOB WILL GO HOME SOON

Sarah writes:

An adoption application has been submitted for Bob, too.

References have been checked, but I don't believe that a home visit has been done yet. His new mom is hoping to pick him up this week, though. She sounds like a great person who is very capable of handling Bob's Addison's issues. She has already checked with her vet and done some research, etc.

It's amazing how many great people there are out there who are willing to give such great homes to the disadvantaged doggies. It's pretty heartwarming.
