Tiny Tim continues to recover in his foster home in New Jersey. Because of the very cold winter we are having, he is not fond of walking outside a lot and will need physical therapy to strengthen the muscles in his repaired leg. He will be going for an evaluation at Red Bank Animal Hospital in New Jersey where they offer aqua therapy and cold/hot therapy, and will be undergoing the second luxating patella repair surgery at the end of February.
On 13 April,
Tiny Tim had his second luxating patella repair surgery on Monday, 15 February. As with the first leg, he also had a torn cruciate ligament and a torn meniscus in this leg that were repaired as well. The surgery went well, but the recovery from this second surgery has been much more difficult.

At first, he did not want to walk at all and had to be carried outside to go potty. Little by little he began walking, first hopping on one leg and later using both legs. The really bad weather that New Jersey had in February & March were no help either.

Tiny Tim had his stitches out on 2 March and now it is a matter of convincing him that yes, he can walk, which is proving difficult to do. When he thinks that you are helping him walk, he walks just fine, even if you are just pretending and not doing anything to support his weight. Most of the time, however, he does not believe he can walk and he just sits.
He will definitely require physical therapy to strengthen his leg muscles and to help him overcome the mental block that is keeping him from a full recovery. He goes back for a vet recheck on 20 April.
