FOSTER MOM KATIE SAYS . . .
4 OCTOBER 2010

Here are some things to add from Todd's foster momma for the week. First off, she is half tempted to keep him because he is the sweetest, most well-behaved little man.
When I met Todd in the parking lot of the Danville, Kentucky Cracker Barrel, my first impression was, "What a happy little fella, but boy, does he stink." Partially, I think, from the skin infection and partially from just being dirty.
Todd rode very well in the car back to Wisconsin. I made a few stops for him to potty and take a few sips of water. Most of the time I didn't even realize he was in the car with me, he was so quiet.
When we got home, first things first: bath time. I turned on the water to the tub and I kid you not, he jumped in ALL BY HIMSELF. And he LOVED his bath. Todd stood like a perfect angel, so I know it had to feel good. I had some medicated shampoo on hand, as my girl Sugaree had some issues in the past, and used that. From my experience, his skin issues are mild and likely due to not being taken care of right away. It doesn't look like it would be a chronic thing, with good food and lots of love.
Later in the evening, after Todd was dry, he also let me comb him. Again, he loved it. I'm tempted to try my hand at clipping him, too, as he is just a little ragamuffin, or so I've been told.
He is on meds for his skin and takes those with no problem. I've not seen ANY sort of aggression from this little guy. I can do anything I want and he doesn't complain. He sleeps in his crate at night and doesn't make a peep. He is very content with going right into his crate anytime I ask him to do so.
On Sunday, Todd met my girls when they came home from "camp". The introductions went great and all three are now fast friends. Todd is not an alpha dog, from what I can tell, as Sugaree is and he didn't challenge her one bit.
Todd appears to be pretty much house-trained, although he did have one accident . . . I think it was more nervousness than anything. He has been loose in the house all day with the girls under supervision and not once has he even looked like he was going to potty. As soon as he goes outside, though, he does plenty.
Todd also enjoys playing with toys and playing chase with the other dogs. He is just all around a great little dog. I can't say enough good about him.
