Sunday, 20 July (in Kenosha, WI):
I am at the Peninsula International Hotel in Suva. The airline put me up, paid for a taxi ride to/from breakfast, lunch and dinner! Met a really nice guy at the airline Rubene (Ruben). He loved my parrot hat (as many have), and he & I started talking. He was fascinated about swimming with the whales.

The hotel Ruben arranged for me on my 12+-hour layover
I said I was a water baby; that my ancestors were mariners (Vikings) and that the water & sea life just called to me. He invited me into his office and showed me where his seafaring ancestors came from and next thing I know - all problems solved and he set it up so I could get cleaned up, take a shower, nap and eat.
So I'm not sure what time it is in Kenosha, but as I write this, it's 11:52 a.m. on Monday. The restaurant opens at 12, serves lunch until 2 p.m. Dinner starts at 6 p.m.; they are picking me up at 7 p.m. for a 9:30 p.m. flight to Tonga.
So my plan was check in via email, get some lunch, then take a nap, eat dinner, then hop the plane.
Arriving at Suva airport . . .
. . . and going to the domestic terminal
Air Tonga counter 5:30 a.m. Fua'Amotu Domestic Airport
Weighing my carryon and me!
