Now, wouldn't THIS be great to get a picture of??
Taken in Palm Bay, Florida, on the east coast (we're on the west coast,
and yes, our sewers are just like this, altho with all the ponds
we have in the area, I don't think anything like this is likely to occur).
So, having gone down the rabbit hole of YouTube trail cam videos,
and wond'rin' what might be walking around our subdivision
during the night, I decided to get a trail cam and see what, if anything,
is out there - coyotes, foxes, alligators (Marie's Pond across the street
has at least two), a rumored bobtail - who knows . . . but I'd like to find out.
Neal found a good camera at - were else? - Amazon;
I ordered it on 1 February . . .
. . . it arrived on 3 February . . .
I had to laugh; usually, nonbreakable items are packed in several boxes;
this breakable item was only in its own box, and then an envelope.
Not even a padded envelope. One corner of the box was squished,
so I took a pic of that, just in case the camera doesn't work.
And now, the reveal . . .
Box with wall attachment, strap & USB cable . . .
FINALLY, here it is . . .
. . . and this is what it looks like on the inside . . .
Tomorrow is supposed to be cold (well, cold for Florida),
so we'll figure out a spot to place this to video the intersection
of Jennifer Terrace & Toniwood Lane, as I assume
animals use those streets at night. There is no traffic then.
I know there will be deer showing up; I saw a herd of them
across the street a few weeks ago
(this was SweeTea's first deer sighting;
she barked at them and they ran off).
I may later ask Marie (whose plants the deer were eating)
if I can put the trail cam in her back yard to video the alligators
in the pond and/or basking in the sun on the bank.
