Remember answering machines? Years ago, we finally bought one,
and we hurried home to see how many messages we had.

Seems like no one wanted to talk with us,
'cause there wasn't ONE message!
You can imagine how deflated we were.

Well, that's how we felt this morning as we looked at our first videos.

Not a bird to be seen; in fact, I've hardly seen ANY birds
on the bird bath since Neal put up the camera two days ago.
Doesn't THAT just figure.

I saw two birds on 5 February, a Blue Jay and a Diving Bird
I've not yet identified, and neither is on the trail camera.

There are, however, lots of pictures of traffic going by,
not only on our street, but the cross street;
we didn't realize how far this would record;
the manual states 80' during the daytime and 60' at night,
but it's recording a lot farther out than that.

We were also puzzled by how many people walked by our house
at 1, 2, and 3 a.m. . . . why? We certainly didn't expect that.
This is a very closed-off subdivision, with only one street in/out,
so who's walking around at that time of night/morning?

When Neal removed the 32 gb TF card,
he replaced it with a 64 gb card;
we'll let it record for a week. He also lowered the camera,
thinking it will be more focused on the bird bath,
rather than on the neighbors.

This comic arrived in my feed the day after the camera arrived; SOMEone, SOMEhow, is monitoring my life.
Maybe on a home camera, with microphone? Reading my emails and my browser history? Strange . . .
